Registration & Refund Policy

Team Based Registration Process: 

For team-based programs, Wellesley Youth Field Hockey rosters balanced teams for grade level, skill level, commitment level and size of team.  At the younger grade levels, we also do our best to ensure players are on a team with at least one other player from the same school since we want our players to have fun and love playing field hockey, and being with their friends. Playing time is important since players improve the more they play, so we limit team size so there are not too many players sitting on the sidelines during games. 

We cannot stress how important timely registration is for our program so that we do not have to limit the number of players.  For team-based programs, we have a responsibility to our Wellesley players and other field hockey programs and leagues to register for the # of teams with full rosters.  We register the # of teams based on the # of registrations in our system as of the league registration deadline.  At that time, the league expects Wellesley Youth Field Hockey to not only commit to the # of teams in each age division playing each week, but to also submit field space availability to schedule and host games.  

Registration timeframes for our programs are: 

  • Fall Season: opens mid-May and ends 6/30

  • Winter Season: opens mid-Sep and ends 10/15

  • Spring Season: opens mid-Nov and ends 1/31 

  • Summer Season: opens May and ends 6/30 

There will be $50 late registration fee added to the program registration fee for each registration completed after each registration deadline date. For any registration requests made after the season has started (see deadlines below), there will be a $75 late fee added to the program registration fee.  

Registration Fee Refund Policy:

There is a $10 processing fee associated with ALL refund requests.  

  • A full refund will be issued, less $10 processing fee, for refund requests made prior to the registration deadline for a program. 

  • A 50% refund will be issued, less $10 processing fee, for refund requests made after the registration deadline and 2 weeks before the program start date.

  • No refunds will be issued after 2 weeks before the program start date. 

There are fixed costs and decisions made prior to the start of each season/program. There is significant planning & administrative work performed prior to the start of the season.  

COVID-19 Refund Policy: 

If state and local health officials provide guidance that our season should be cancelled, we will provide a refund less modest fee to offset nonrefundable program fees.  We have fixed costs and pay for field, league, coach and equipment regardless of the # of registered players.
